Do you want to quit?

Please read the following article and answer the questions:

1a. Talk about a time when you quit a job. If you have never quit a job, please move onto question 1d.
1b. Did you follow the advice from the article? What advice from the article will you take with you.
1c. How did you handle the confrontation?
1d. (0nly answer if you have never quit a job before) Name two pieces of advice that you will carry with you as you progress in your career.

2. Choose one fact from the article that you agree with, state it, and explain why you believe in it.

3. Now, find an online article that deals with careers and tips for success. (Which ever article I select for this class to study will receive 5 points extra credit.) Paste the link to the article and explain why you chose to highlight this article.

  2. 1A. When employed at JCPenny Portrait Studio I ended up quitting my position at their location. My boss was rude and had made racial remarks.

    1D. Never quit a job (expecially in such hard times with our economy) before you have a position lined up next. Also, explain why you're quitting. Don't simply say, "I quit." They take words like that to such offense. End things nicely, for future recommendations.

    2. "Drop your boss an email every now and then to let him or her know how your new job is going." - This is such a good idea especially when you are planing to seek a position similar to one you already hold. An old boss that you are still close with will look a lot betetr on an application than a boss who despises you.

    I think blog spot gives good advise for those looking for a job and good advise for those holding a job.

  3. 1d. Look to the future, you never know what to expect so you should always be prepared.
    2. Let them know in advance so they can rehire and keep the business going.

    d.Unless against business policy, do what your manager says.
    2. Give advanced warning when quitting.
    This shows responsibility and that you care for the well-being of the company. Giving two weeks notice gives your boss time to hire a new employee and appreciate your consideration.

    This is an article pertaining to people unhappy in their jobs during the recession, so they cannot quit. Overall you must find the bright side and if there are [problems catch them while theyre small and don't be afraid to ask for change.

  5. 1d. 2 pieces of advise i have is be positive and polite cutisey goes a lomg way. because if u leave a lasting impression ur more likly to recieve the job.
    2.i agree with keeping in touch because the more people u have to tslk good bout u the better u look walking in to a new job interview.
